Interfaith Seminary Program
Native & Earth Based Religions
Chinese & Japanese Religions
Eight papers on the world's major faith traditions are required. Participants select one religion from each of the six categories above plus an additional two faith traditions. The two additional faith traditions may either be chosen from any of the six categories above or participants may choose one or two faith traditions of their choice not listed.
Participants conduct their own research and submit a 4-6 page paper written to the following specifications:
A summary of the fundamental tenets, sacred texts, major rituals and holidays
The faith tradition's view of God or a Supreme Being
Discuss how the faith tradition speaks to you. Where do you resonate? Where are you challenged or, perhaps, disagree?
What might you take from the faith tradition that would most inform your present day experience?
A list of recommended resources is provided for each major faith tradition. All eight papers on the world's faith traditions are to be completed and sent in electronically by the assigned date. Each paper is reviewed, checked off for completion, and returned. Completion of all eight papers is required to meet requirements for graduation/ordination.
