Accepting a Gift

I am relatively new to the Temple. However, from the moment I heard about it and attended a service, I knew this was the community of faith that would support my spiritual path. The Temple is a gift from Spirit after a devasting loss in my life.  With an open heart I request the honor to be of service as Associate Minister.

From when I was a young teenager, I felt called to serve God. Being Roman Catholic, I thought my service would be as a nun in a cloister. Instead, I found I was called to be a wife and mother. During those years I served the Church by teaching, creating liturgies and in any other way that being a woman allowed. 

When I was 37, I obtained a degree in Roman Catholic theology from Saint Anselm College. It was while working on that degree, which has a minor in philosophy, that I learned to think outside the proverbial box.  After graduation, I left the Church and achieved a Master’s Degree and then a Doctorate in Psychology. 

I always thought of my work in psychology as a privilege. I felt that it was a spiritual mission. While certainly using knowledge and techniques of my profession, I felt my work was deep and spiritual. During those years, I experienced Spirit in a much broader sense than I did as a Catholic. I also continued studies in this area.

When I retired from my work, I obtained an online Doctorate Degree, in metaphysical theology, from the International College of Metaphysical Theology and was ordained.  

The skills I would bring to the position of Associate Minister would be my continuing education; my ability to relate to people; creating and running small groups; as well as teaching. It would be an honor to assist the Presiding Minister in whichever way would be most helpful.
